A PORT Lincoln man has died while snorkelling off the state’s West Coast.
Police are investigating whether the man’s death in Sleaford Bay, about 20km south of Port Lincoln, was caused by drowning or as a result of a medical condition.
A police spokesman said the man, 47, was snorkelling before his death about 4pm yesterday and a report would be prepared for the coroner.
He said the man was pulled from the water and friends tried to revive him but he was unable to be saved.
Sleaford Bay is on the western side of Port Lincoln National Park and is a popular spot for tourists.
